WE ARE ONE
This year Edu1st celebrates 15 years of creating a culture of thinking and making a lifelong difference in each child and person. Since 2001, Education First Inc. has provided a challenging and enriching environment of early childhood education for children growing in a 21st Century impacting not only on children, but also on parents, educational providers and the community.
This dream started 15 years ago when Ana Maria Fernandez and Gilberto Pinzon decided to make their dream come true. They started opening a Preschool in Pembroke Pines and now Edu1st Preschool has grown into an international education company with more than 500 staff and teachers in 9 preschools and schools in more than 8 countries. Also Education First Inc.’s strategic plan has positioned the company in place no. 43 of the fastest growing companies in the education field in the United States in the decade of 2000 to 2010.
Committed to excellence in education, Edu1st uses the implementation of the Visible Thinking approach from Harvard University,Thinking as a pedagogical Strategy, the Theory of Constraints TOC, the Strategies of Lateral and Parallel Thinking from DeBono, Philosophy for Children, and the processes of differentiation and inclusion, besides many others.
We are the creators of VESS Curriculum (Vida Equilibrada con Sentido y Sabiduria in Spanish or a Balanced Life with Meaning and Wisdom in English) which utilizes thinking as a pedagogical tool from infancy and up to form citizens who are ethical and have habits of mind and mental dispositions that respond to the needs of the 21st Century. This curriculum has inspired hundreds of teachers and educational centers in the United States and South America where the program has been implemented.
Edu1st has been around the world presenting and training educators with the VESS philosophy. We have coached and trained and inspired over 5000 educators on our VESS philosophy. We have presented numerous times at the International Conference on Thinking, and at several other international conventions for thinkers and educators.
Over the last 15 years, Edu1st has been on an exciting journey with many milestone events: from opening of our first preschool (2001), to the creation of the VESS Curriculum (2014), and the VESS Curriculum approved for the School Readiness Program, that meant a new and very exciting era for Education First.
We are very proud and exhited for all the things that are waiting for us. Thank you to all of our team members who have made this dream possible and have become agents of change.
