Just watch this video to witness the power of using thinking as a pedagogical strategy for learning with a group of 2 years old children!
Well done to our amazing teacher: Judy Granados for such an inspirational work!

"My daughter loves and enjoys being there. She cries when she has to leave."
"I was looking for a preschool for my 4 year old, now 5. She had previously been with a Family Montessori School and I pulled her out. I found BMIA on the internet. I fell in love with the school when I first entered. The environment was that of a kindergarten class. It was what I was looking for. You could tell off the back that learning is taking place. Lesson plans, menu, informational charts about students, and pictures are posted daily/weekly. I like the fact that they didn't hesitate to make changes when needed especially if staff doesn't comply with the vision or mission of the school. Their methods of teaching ensures that students are making connection to self, to text, and to the world using the thinking model/routine. My daughter loves and enjoys being there. She cries when she has to leave. That tells me she is comfortable and she loves being around her teachers and the rest of the staff. She is excited about learning and tells me about what she is learning daily"

At Edu1st.schools we are not only teaching for understanding, we care about understanding to foster productive thinking in our learners!
Here are some questions to reflect on:Written by Ana Maria Fernandez
At Edu1st, we believe education is a dynamic processes. The learners are not only the children, but their parents, ourselves, the whole community.
We are living in exponential times. Education needs to change and understand we cannot continue teaching for the industrial era using ideas from 100 years ago. Research is providing us new tools to understand our brains' potential. 21st Century is demanding new skills from us that were unknown a decade ago. Today, more than ever, Ethics and values are crucial for our world future.
Collaborative work is leading the way. Different disciplines are now integrating their knowledge to create a better future. At Edu1st we understand this and we actively participate world wide in various conferences. We are presenting and sharing our work with the world and we are also learning from leading researchers and practitioners.
Clic bellow ( "Read More") to accesses the conferences we have attended and where we have presented our work.
More information on the learning from these conferences and how your children are learning at our schools will be provided at the coffee mornings, the weekly news letters and on a daily basis throught the experience your child is enjoying at the school.
Feel free to contact us for any comment or inquiry.

Daily we receive anecdotes of our schools' children from parents about how they are using the thinking routines and language of thinking at home, and how that is making a difference in your lives.
Parents, we are inviting you to share anecdotes you might have of your children and how they are making their thinking visible at home.
English and Spanish are welcome!
